The bernette 37 is a compact computerised model with simple operation and robust construction. It has many functions, such as the practical start/stop function that allows you to sew without using the foot pedal. You can also use the needle stop up/down function to decide whether the needle should stop in the fabric or up above it. This is a particular advantage when you want to sew corners and turn the fabric around the needle. With the bernette 37 you can also adjust the sewing speed to suit your individual requirements and the type of material. The bright LED light helps ensure that your work surface is always well lit. The bernette 37 is delivered with 5 presser feet (soles).

Wide range of stitch patterns for more flexibility in your sewing projects

The bernette 37 has 50 different stitches, consisting of 17 utility and stretch stitches, two darning stitches and 19 decorative stitches, five buttonholes and seven quilting stitches. This means you are well equipped to handle any sewing project. The stretch stitches enable you to sew elastic jersey fabrics.

How do I sew buttonholes with the b37?

The b37 makes it especially easy – it offers you four different types of buttonholes, all sewn fully automatically. This way, your buttonholes turn out neat and even, perfectly matched to your fabric and project.

These four buttonhole types are available:

  • Standard Buttonhole
  • Round-End Buttonhole
  • Stretch Buttonhole

Of course – the b37 is ready for your twin needle projects! Whether it’s sporty double seams or delicate details, with the b37 and a suitable twin needle you’ll achieve neat, evenly spaced parallel stitches in no time.

Here’s what to keep in mind:

  • Use a suitable twin needle.
  • Adjust the stitch width so the needles don’t hit the needle plate or presser foot.
  • Thread two upper threads – each needle is supplied separately.
  • On the backside, the bobbin thread connects both seams into a fine zigzag structure that stays stretchable.

With the twin needle function, the b37 opens up even more creative possibilities – from beautiful hems to decorative highlights.

How can I control the sewing speed on the b37?

With the b37, you set the pace yourself – from slow and precise all the way up to a maximum speed of 700 stitches per minute.

Here’s how it works:

  • Foot control: The harder you press, the faster the machine sews.
  • Speed control slider: With the slider on the front, you can continuously limit the maximum speed. For example, you can set the machine to sew slowly even with the foot control fully pressed – perfect for detailed work or when kids are sewing.
  • Start/Stop button: The b37 can also be operated without a foot control. The maximum speed you set with the slider is automatically applied.
