Instruction
Switch off the machine. Attach the foot as described in the instruction manual.

Stitch type: buttonhole program
Stitch width: basic value, adjusted according to the material
Stitch length: basic value, adjusted according to the material
Needle position: centre
Feed dog: raised
Important: Always sew a test buttonhole.
Buttonhole foot with slide with button holder:
Pull the button holder backwards and insert the button. Press the button holder together firmly. Attach the foot with slide and move the button-hole lever down as far as possible. Mark the buttonhole position on the fabric. Insert the needle at the start of the buttonhole using the handwheel and lower the presser foot. Sew the buttonhole; the machine secures the threads at the end and stops. On mechanical models, the machine does not stop automatically and the threads have to be tied off manually.
Buttonhole foot with slide for four-step buttonholes:
Mark the position and length of the buttonhole on the fabric. Position the fabric underneath the foot and insert the needle at the start of the buttonhole. Lower the foot, making sure that the slide is in the rearmost position (the two markings must meet). Sew the buttonhole, selecting the next step of the buttonhole at the relevant markings.
