What is the performance of the bernette mini vacuum cleaner?

The bernette mini vacuum cleaner, which is exclusive to the b68 Maker, has an output of 40 watts. This ensures that you can always keep your b68 Maker clean and free of thread remnants. 

How can I charge my bernette mini vacuum cleaner?

You can easily charge your bernette mini vacuum cleaner using the USB cable supplied. This means you can conveniently charge it on your computer, a power bank or a USB charger and always have it ready for use when you need it.

How can I clean the bernette mini vacuum cleaner?

Turn the dust container to the right along the direction of the arrow. Then pull the container upwards to remove it. Pull the filter out of the container and remove the dust and thread residue.
You can simply clean the filter of your bernette mini vacuum cleaner with clean water as required. Once it is completely dry, it is ready for use again.

  • Efficiency: Combo stitches allow you to overcast and sew with a wide seam allowance in a single operation.
  • Clean-looking finish: They offer hems that look great and give your sewing projects a high-quality appearance.
  • Stability: They offer stability and are very suitable for fabrics that fray easily and for combining different material qualities, such as knitted and woven fabrics or artificial leather and jersey. 

With the b68 Maker and its combo stitches, you are perfectly equipped to realize your creative sewing projects beautifully and efficiently.

What is the mtc and how does it help me when sewing?

The abbreviation "mtc" stands for "micro thread control". This clever fine adjustment allows you to precisely adjust the amount of thread that wraps around the edge of the fabric. This prevents unwanted air loops and your fabric edges are nicely wrapped.
Thanks to the mtc thread control, you only have to set the thread tension once. If necessary, you can simply adjust the mtc fine adjustment when changing the cutting width, stitch length or material thickness. 
On models without mtc fine adjustment, it may be necessary to adjust the thread tensions individually and this usually requires several sewing tests to achieve beautiful seams. With the user-friendly mtc thread control, such multiple adjustments are not necessary as it includes the knife and the stitch latch.

What is the automatic air threader and how does it work?

The automatic air threader of the b68 Maker makes threading the hook threads child's play. Here's how it works:

  1. The machine is prepared and you have put the thread through the thread tensioner.
  2. Draw a thread reserve of approx. 50 cm so that the thread can be fed through the tube without resistance. 
  3. Insert thread:  Insert the thread end 1 to 2 cm into the corresponding air threader nozzle. 
  4. Activate the air threader: Press and hold the button for the air threader to activate the air flow.
  5. The thread is pulled in: The air flow automatically pulls the thread through the hook channel.
  6. Done: The thread is now correctly threaded and can be placed under the presser foot so that you can start sewing immediately.

What is the CS-Lock tool (coverstitch securing tool)?

The CS-Lock tool from BERNINA is an ingenious, versatile tool that allows you to secure your stitches at the end of the seam. After sewing, simply pull out the needle threads between the presser foot and stitch plate using the CS-Lock tool and cut them off at a length of approx. 10 cm. Remove the project from under the presser foot to the left and cut the chain looper thread or the overlock looper threads. This secures the end of your seam and you can knot the loose threads or sew them into the seam allowance. 

The scale printed on the CS-Lock tool is your practical helper for quickly checking and measuring hems, seam widths or marking fabrics.
